Independent Technologist | Full-stack & DevOps | Helping Businesses Build with Autonomy and AI

I’ve spent my career moving fluidly between development, infrastructure, and strategy — connecting the dots between code and business outcomes. My background spans WordPress, PHP, and JavaScript on the front end to Docker, PostgreSQL, and CI/CD automation on the back end. I’m most at home in environments where systems thinking meets hands-on implementation. I believe one person can make a meaningful difference by understanding how all the pieces fit together.

My work is driven by a few simple principles: autonomy, clarity, and impact. I believe great engineers aren’t defined by the tools they use but by how quickly they can understand a problem, design a scalable solution, and deliver it without drama. I value direct communication, self-sufficiency, and iteration — the kind of professional rhythm where people trust each other to get things done.

Today, I work as an independent consultant helping small teams and founders stabilize and scale their products. I’m especially interested in modern open-source platforms like Supabase and the new generation of AI-assisted workflows that help lean teams build faster with less overhead. Whether as a hands-on engineer or an embedded technical partner, my focus is always the same: helping organizations work with more autonomy and confidence in their technology.

Career Timeline

Present

Freelance Technical Consultant

Highlight: Automating the Un-automatable. At Drums for Schools, I designed and built a full-stack CI/CD pipeline for a complex WordPress site, something notoriously difficult to automate. This system reduced deployment times by 50% and allowed developers to ship features with a single git push, eliminating manual, error-prone releases.

2024

Homeroom Teacher, Shanghai

Highlight: Bridging Cultures Through Systems. Leading a cross-cultural classroom of 20 students taught me more about systems thinking than many tech jobs. My ability to document processes and create clear, repeatable learning structures was essential in bridging language and cultural gaps, a skill I now apply to developer onboarding.

2023

Technical Lead, Blockchains Inc.

Highlight: Leading a Codebase Turnaround. I took the lead on migrating a brittle legacy React app to a modern Next.js and TypeScript stack. By focusing on reusable components and clean, standardized API communication, we cut code redundancy by over 30% and made the codebase a place where developers enjoyed working again.

2021

Web Engineer, Blockchains Inc.

Highlight: Building for a Decentralized Future. I had the chance to work on the frontier of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI), building the reusable React components and serverless GraphQL API that powered the company's Verifiable Credentials platform. It was a deep dive into turning complex protocols into a usable product.

2019

Applications Engineer, Definitive Healthcare

Highlight: Unifying a Data Empire. I built the flagship "Quick Search" feature, the first full-stack React integration in the company's legacy .NET application. This single feature served over 90,000 clients and unified data from 20+ separate databases, creating new cross-selling opportunities and becoming a favorite tool of the sales team.
